THE ROLE
With a comprehensive understanding of the design process, you will support multiple design projects from concept to completion. Collaborating closely with the Creative Director, you will ensure the effective execution of design development, drawing and specification packages, procurement, and installation.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Formal accreditation in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
- Over 3 years of experience in private residential interior design
- Solid knowledge of the BC Building Code and local bylaws
- Confidence in managing and producing drawing and specification packages for client presentations, permitting, and construction
- Proven experience in coordinating and managing interior design projects
- Experience leading a small team of designers to achieve project goals
- Proficiency in contract administration and coordinating with contractors, trades, suppliers, etc.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, and Teamwork.com is a plus
- Experience with mid-range to high-end residential design projects
- An independent and self-sufficient individual who can effectively manage and creatively execute projects with minimal direction.
- A dedicated individual who takes ownership of their role and the company, acting as a dependable right-hand to support the team in the principal's absence.
- Exceptional creative leader who inspires the team, drives innovation, and pushes the boundaries of design.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- An entrepreneurial mindset, bringing forth innovative ideas to drive business growth and development.
- Capability to confidently advocate for and stand behind design decisions
- Understanding sustainable design principles and the use of eco-friendly materials. Credentials in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
- Ability to create realistic visualizations using software like 3ds Max or Blender.
- Additional certifications such as NCIDQ.
